Can it BE the last week of school???

Filed under: Uncategorized — mpkane @ 7:35 pm

I guess so. I’m already missing my students – we have been like a small group on a journey with ups and downs and lots of getting to know each other.

Monday is a regular school day. On Tuesday I will be out at my daughter’s 8th grade graduation. Wednesday is the school picnic. No school for students on Thursday (staff development for teachers). Friday is a short attendance day, 9am – 10am for report card pick-up.
(Just as a “by the way”, I will be working the summer school at Ray until July 27!)
I want to thank you for sending your wonderful children to my classroom and supporting me throughout the year. I plan to send a packet home with some rainy day worksheets and suggestions for unusual and independent ways to keep the skills we’ve worked so hard to learn from evaporating this summer.
Look for pictures from the 3rd grade play on the blog. COMING SOON!

TWO more weeks.

These final days are so full. Not only do we have many special events happening both during and after the school day, but we also have that mix of emotions about ending the year spent in a grade and moving up. I intend to spend the time we have actually building academic confidence and showing the students what they’ve learned and reinforcing strategies for school success.
Please keep reading for pleasure at home. Write any chance you get. Practice math facts when you’re in traffic!

June 14 – NO SCHOOL for students.
